Clayton Keller played one standout season at Boston University in 2016–17, recording 45 points in 31 games and helping lead the Terriers to the NCAA Tournament. He earned multiple honors, including Hockey East Rookie of the Year, a spot on the Hockey East Second All-Star Team, and the Tim Taylor Award as the nation’s top freshman.

Clayton Keller joined the Arizona Coyotes in 2017 and quickly became the team’s offensive leader, earning four NHL All-Star selections and setting the franchise’s Arizona-era single-season points record with 86 in 2022–23. He ranks among the Coyotes’ all-time leaders in goals, assists, and games played, and was a finalist for the 2023 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.

Clayton Keller became the first captain in Utah franchise history after relocating from Arizona, leading the Utah Hockey Club in its inaugural 2024–25 season with a league‑best 90 points (30 goals, 60 assists in 81 games) and earning the team’s Leading Scorer Award. He also recorded his 500th NHL point during the season and helped set franchise records for most goals, assists, and total points in a single campaign
